Under the leadership of Dr. Shailesh Kumar, the project focuses on cutting-edge genomics: “Pangenome Delineation and Genome-Wide Association Studies (GWAS) for NLRome and Structural Variation for Seed Sterility Mapping in Ginger.”
This is a premier opportunity for bioinformaticians and data scientists to work on the complex genetic architecture of Zingiber officinale.

Eligibility & Desirable Skills
NIPGR is looking for candidates with a strong technical background in computational biology.
- Essential Qualification: Master’s degree in any branch of Life Sciences.
- Experience: Minimum one year of research experience specifically in:
- Bioinformatics
- Data Science
- Machine Learning (ML) / Artificial Intelligence (AI)
- Citizenship: Applicants must adhere to Govt. of India reservation and employment norms.
