
The Central Ayurveda Research Institute (CARI), formerly known as the National Vrkshayuuveda Research Institute (NVARI), has announced a walk-in interview for the position of Project Officer / Coordinator. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced professional to join a leading institution focused on medicinal plant research and the standardization of Ayurvedic medicines. The selected candidate will receive a consolidated salary of Rs. 75,000 per month.
Position and Responsibilities
The Project Officer / Coordinator will be responsible for a range of critical activities related to the development of the National Raw Drug Repositories (NRDR). This is a single, contract-based position with an initial tenure of six months, extendable based on performance and institutional policy.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordination and project monitoring for the development of the NRDR.
- Establishing an accredited reference library for authenticating raw drugs.
- Developing an educational center to provide training on the importance of raw drugs, their collection, preservation, and standardization.
- Creating study tools and performing project-related tasks.
- Organizing meetings, preparing necessary documents, and writing minutes.
- Traveling to participating sites for assessment and monitoring of progress.
- Liaisoning with various agencies including CCRAS Headquarters and Regional Raw Drug Repositories.
Qualifications and Experience
CARI is looking for a candidate with a strong academic background and extensive experience.
Essential Qualification:
- A Post Graduate Degree in Botany, Dravyaguna, Medicinal Plant, Pharmacognosy, Phytochemistry, Chemistry, or Pharmacy.
- A minimum of 10 years of research experience in quality control of ASU (Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani) medicines, herbals, or botanicals.
Desirable Qualifications:
- A Ph.D. in any of the essential qualification disciplines.
- Experience in developing laboratories related to drug standardization, quality control, or quality assurance.
- Proven experience in research management, project management, and scientific administration.
- Strong skills in drafting and editing scientific documents, articles, and technical reports.
- A good record of publications in peer-reviewed journals.
- Proficiency in computer applications.
