
The Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR), an autonomous institution under the Government of India, is seeking applications for a temporary Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) position. The selected candidate will work on a project focused on understanding presynaptic autophagy dysregulation in synaptopathies, a collaborative effort between the Molecular Biology and Genetics Unit and the Neuroscience Unit.
Position & Project Summary
- Post: Senior Research Fellowship (SRF)
- Project Title: “Understanding the Molecular Basis of Presynaptic Autophagy Dysregulation in the Context of Synaptopathies”
- Principal Investigators: Prof. Ravi Manjithaya and Prof. Sheeba Vasu
- Location: JNCASR, Bengaluru
- Remuneration: ₹42,000 per month plus 24% HRA
Eligibility and Application
- Essential Qualifications:
- A Post Graduate Degree in Life Sciences or a professional course.
- Must have qualified through a national-level examination like CSIR-UGC NET (including Lectureship), GATE, or other exams conducted by government agencies such as DST, DBT, DAE, or ICMR.
- A minimum of two years of research experience is mandatory.
- Desired Skills:
- Experience with Drosophila handling and dissection.
- Proficiency in molecular biology techniques (PCR, plasmid isolation, immunofluorescence assays).
- Expertise in biochemical techniques (Western blotting) and cell culture.
- Knowledge of MATLAB/Python and experience with video recording and analysis of Drosophila is highly preferred.
