The Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, is inviting applications for the temporary post of Project Research Scientist I (Non-Medical). This position is part of a research project funded by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) focused on tuberculosis uveitis.
Job Profile and Compensation

- Project Title: “Evaluation of cell-free DNA (cf DNA) for diagnosis and molecular screening of drug resistance in patients of tuberculosis uveitis (TBU)”
- Principal Investigator: Prof. Ramandeep Singh, Dept. of Advanced Eye Centre
- Salary: A consolidated salary of ₹67,200 per month (₹56,000 + 20% HRA).
- Job Status: This is a purely temporary position and will end when the project is completed.
Eligibility and Application Process
- Essential Qualification:
- A first-class postgraduate degree in Life Sciences (including integrated PG degrees)
- OR a second-class postgraduate degree with a Ph.D. in Life Sciences.
- Age Limit: The maximum age is 35 years. Age relaxation is available for reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/PWD) and departmental candidates as per ICMR rules.
