The Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB), Faridabad—an Institution of National Importance and a statutory body established by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India, operating as a UNESCO Category II Centre—has invited online applications from qualified candidates for the position of Project Associate-I on a contractual research project.
The engagement is for the project titled:
“Elucidating the Role of Histone modifications in Antifungal Drug Resistance of Candida Auris: A pathway to novel therapeutic strategies.”
Vacancy & Fellowship Summary
- Designation: Project Associate-I
- Total Posts: 01 (One)
- Monthly Fellowship: Rs. 25,000/- + 27% HRA per month
- Tenure: Initially for 01 year, extendable on an annual performance review basis up to the duration of the project.
- Principal Investigator (PI): Dr. Surbhi Kohli, MK Bhan Fellow
- Mentor: Dr. Anil Thakur, Associate Professor
Eligibility Criteria
- Age Limit: Below 28 years.
- Essential Qualifications:
- M.Sc. / M.Tech. in Life Sciences / Biotechnology / Molecular Biology / Biochemistry / Microbiology / Genomics.
- Qualification in any recognized National Level Eligibility Test (e.g., GATE, CSIR/UGC-NET, DBT, etc.).
- Desirable Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in yeast genetics and molecular biology.
- Practical background in epigenetics research.
- Proficiency in epigenetic techniques such as Chromatin Immunoprecipitation (ChIP), Co-Immunoprecipitation (Co-IP), and assays evaluating protein-DNA and protein-protein interactions.
- Prior involvement in functional genomics or transcriptional regulation projects is an added advantage.
