
The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA), under the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, is seeking to fill vacant contractual positions for Consultant (Medical Device). This is a re-advertisement to fill posts that were previously left vacant or where selected candidates have since left.
The position offers an opportunity to work on a contract basis, with an initial engagement period up to February 2, 2026. This term is extendable for a further two years, based on the candidate’s performance and the needs of the Authority.
Key Details & Eligibility
- Post: Consultant (Medical Device)
- Remuneration: A consolidated fee of ₹65,000 per month.
- Age Limit: The upper age limit for applicants is 35 years.
Essential Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation, Clinical Bio-Medical Engineering, or Biotechnology from a recognized university.
- A Post-Graduation or Advanced Post Graduate Diploma in a similar discipline, including M.Pharm.
- A minimum of two years of work experience in Medical Devices Manufacturing, Regulatory Affairs, Research, or a Medical Device Testing Laboratory.
- Candidates must have a good working knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel, along with strong communication and analytical skills.
General Terms & Conditions
- Leave: Consultants are eligible for 12 days of leave per year on a pro-rata basis, in addition to Gazetted holidays.
- Attendance: Attendance will be tracked via an Aadhar-based Biometric Attendance System (BAS), and fees will be paid based on recorded attendance.
- Working Hours: Normal working hours are from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM on working days, but candidates may be required to work late or on weekends and holidays without extra remuneration.
- Benefits: This is a contractual position, and consultants are not entitled to government benefits such as Provident Fund, Pension, Gratuity, or medical attendance.
- Police Verification: The engagement is subject to police verification. A negative report will lead to immediate termination of the contract.
- Medical Fitness: Applicants must submit a medical certificate from an MBBS doctor at the time of joining.
