
The Central Medical Services Society (CMSS), a central procurement agency under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, is seeking applications for the position of General Manager (Procurement).

- Post: General Manager (Procurement)
- Number of Posts: 01
- Age Limit: Up to 55 years as of the application’s closing date.
- Emoluments: Rs. 2,00,000 per month (consolidated and all-inclusive) plus Provident Fund (PF).
- Method of Recruitment: On a contract basis for an initial period of 5 years, renewable annually based on performance.
- Last Date to Apply: The application must be received by post by 5:30 PM on October 23, 2025.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: An Engineering Degree, B.Pharma., or MBA from a recognized university.
- Experience: A minimum of 20 years of work experience is required. This experience must be in a Central Government, State Government, PSU, or Autonomous Body, or in a private industry with an annual turnover of Rs. 500 crores or more in at least one of the last three financial years.
- Core Procurement Experience: Out of the 20 years, at least 8 years must be in a whole-time capacity in core procurement of goods and services within a government, PSU, or autonomous body.
- Additional Skills: Candidates must have knowledge of:
- Modern Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and e-Procurement Systems.
- General Financial Rules (GFR), Public Procurement Process, and related provisions.
- Government e-Marketplace (GeM).
- Proficiency in MS Office and strong oral and written English communication skills.
Job Responsibilities:
The General Manager (Procurement) will oversee all aspects of the procurement process, including:
- Ensuring transparent and efficient procurement of goods and services.
- Monitoring warehouse storage and managing inventory to prevent shortages and wastage.
- Maintaining a comprehensive database of suppliers and their performance.
- Preparing and updating standard bid documents.
- Handling bid evaluation, contract awards, and post-contract management.
- Addressing grievances from suppliers.
- Assisting with training materials related to procurement and logistics.
- Implementing updates to e-procurement and ERP systems.
- Conducting market research in the pharmaceutical sector.
- Providing technical and managerial advice on procurement to government ministries and departments.
