
The Central University of Punjab, a leading institution with an ‘A+’ NAAC accreditation and high NIRF rankings, is inviting applications for a temporary position of Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical). This role is part of a time-bound research project titled “Deciphering the role of Fibroblast Growth Factors Dynamics in experimental models of Alzheimer’s disease,” which is funded by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), New Delhi. The project has a duration of three years.
Position Details

- Emoluments: The selected candidate will receive ₹56,000 + 10% HRA per month for the first two years. In the third year, the salary will be increased by 5%, in accordance with ICMR norms.
- Term of Engagement: The initial appointment is for a period of six months, which can be extended up to the full three-year duration of the project based on satisfactory performance and conduct.
Eligibility Criteria
- Essential Qualifications: Applicants must hold a B.Pharmacy degree and a Master’s degree (M.Pharm/M.S. Pharm) from a recognized university. A minimum of 60% marks is required for general category candidates, while a minimum of 55% marks is acceptable for SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PWD candidates.
- Desirable Expertise: Preference will be given to candidates with practical experience in stereotaxic surgery, in-vitro techniques, and molecular biology methods such as RT-PCR, Western blot, and In-situ hybridization.
- Age Limit: Candidates must be below 30 years of age as of the interview date. Age relaxation is permissible for reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/PWD) as per Government of India rules.
