The CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory (NCL), Pune, a premier constituent laboratory of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), is inviting applications for purely temporary positions under the DBT National Network Project (Project Code: GAP335926).


Vacancy Details

Two positions are open for Project Associates, each with distinct qualification and compensation criteria:

1. Project Associate-I

Minimum QualificationsMaster’s/Integrated Master’s in Natural, Agricultural, or Pharmaceutical Sciences / MVSc / Animal Sciences OR Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, or Medicine.
Desirable ExperienceExperience in mathematical or computational modeling (evidenced by publications or projects). Knowledge of scientific programming languages like Python, C, C++, Fortran, or Matlab. Interest in mathematical modeling of biological systems and data analysis is required.
Job RequirementMathematical/computational modeling of biological systems and analysis of biological data. Programming.
Emoluments (Monthly)i) ₹31,000 + HRA (for NET/GATE/National Level Exam qualified candidates) ii) ₹25,000 + HRA (for non-qualified candidates)
Age Limit35 years (Relaxable for reserved categories)

2. Project Associate-II

Minimum QualificationsMaster’s/Integrated Master’s in Biotechnology/Bioinformatics OR Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology AND two (2) years of R&D experience OR Master’s/Integrated Master’s in Engineering or Technology.
Desirable ExperienceExperience in mathematical or computational modeling of biological data (evidenced by publications). Knowledge of scientific programming languages like Python, C, C++, Fortran, or Matlab. Interest in mathematical modeling of biological systems and data analysis is required.
Job RequirementComputational and mathematical modeling of biological data.
Emoluments (Monthly)i) ₹35,000 + HRA (for NET/GATE/National Level Exam qualified candidates) ii) ₹28,000 + HRA (for non-qualified candidates)
Age Limit35 years (Relaxable for reserved categories)

General Conditions

  • The engagement is initially for six months, extendable based on project duration and performance.
  • The position is purely temporary and does not entitle the appointee to any claim for a permanent CSIR/NCL post.
  • Candidates are strongly advised to mention all qualifications and relevant experience above the minimum requirements, as the Project Leader may restrict the number of candidates called for interview based on the Screening Committee’s recommendations.
  • No TA/DA will be admissible for attending the interview.
  • Selected candidates must join duty immediately upon receiving the offer.
