
The HTAIn (Health Technology Assessment in India) Resource Center at the Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi, funded by the Department of Health Research, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, is inviting applications from Indian Citizens for the temporary position of Field Officer. The post is for the duration of the project (likely 3 years), renewable every 6 months based on performance and project continuation.
Position and Remuneration Details
- Post: Field Officer
- Monthly Consolidated Emoluments: ₹ 30,000/-
- Upper Age Limit: 35 years (Age relaxation applicable for Female/SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/EWS/Physically Handicapped as per GOI regulations).
- Job Nature: Purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. Appointments are terminable with one month’s notice. No claims for regular appointment or benefits (PF, CCA, LTC, medical claim) are admissible.
Essential Qualifications and Experience

- Biochemistry
- Biotechnology
- Social work
- Psychology
- Public health
- Community medicine
- Statistics or Biostatistics
- OR BAMS
- Desirable Experience:
- 2-year experience after Master’s in fieldwork / R&D / research in a recognized institution/University.
- Experience in using Computers, good knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, ERP, Statistics software’s, R or Python.

- Selection Process: Candidates will be selected based on their performance in a written examination / personal discussion / interview.
- Shortlisting: Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview within 2-4 weeks of the application closing process. There might be a written/practical test if the number of applicants is high. The date of the interview or written test will be communicated via email.
Important Notes
- Candidates currently in service must submit a ‘No Objection Certificate’ from their current employer at the time of the interview.
- No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview, joining, or termination of services.
