The Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology (BRIC-RGCB) is inviting applications from Indian citizens for a Project Assistant position. The role is part of an ANRF-funded project led by Dr. Parijat Senapati (Scientist – C), focusing on the molecular mechanisms of epigenetic vulnerability in breast cancer.

Eligibility Criteria

Essential Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in any branch of Life Sciences from a recognized University.
Minimum 70% marks in PG with a consistent academic record.
Strong theoretical understanding of Molecular Biology and Genetics.

Desirable Skills:

Hands-on experience in Mammalian Cell Culture and transfection.
Proficiency in Cloning, Western Blotting, and Immunostaining.
Experience in buffer preparation and image analysis.

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will work on uncovering how inhibiting specific proteins (PRMT5 and RBBP4) affects the epigenetic landscape of breast cancer cells. This involves:

Maintaining and manipulating cancer cell lines.
Performing standard molecular biology assays and protein analysis.
Data recording and preliminary image analysis for research publications.
