The Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) has invited online applications for the direct appointment of Drug Inspectors under the State Drug Control Directorate (Namkum, Ranchi). This is a permanent, high-ranking gazetted position (Level-9) within the Department of Health, Medical Education, and Family Welfare.

Eligibility Criteria
1. Educational Qualification
As per Rule 49 of the Drug & Cosmetics Rules 1945, applicants must possess:
- A degree in Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Sciences.
- OR a degree in Medicine with specialization in Clinical Pharmacology or Microbiology from a recognized Indian University.
2. Statutory Experience (For Schedule C Inspection Authority)
While the basic degree is required for appointment, to be authorized to inspect firms manufacturing Schedule C substances, an Inspector must have:
- 18 months experience in the manufacturing or testing of Schedule C substances in an approved lab.
- OR 3 years of experience in inspecting firms manufacturing Schedule C substances during their tenure as a Drug Inspector.
3. Age Limit (as of 01.08.2024)
- Minimum Age: 21 Years
- Maximum Age (General/EWS): 35 Years
- BC / EBC: 37 Years
- Women (UR/BC/EBC): 38 Years
- SC / ST (Male & Female): 40 Years

How to Apply: The OTR System
- Registration: Register via the One Time Registration (OTR) system at jpsc.gov.in.
- Form Filling: Complete the application in English BLOCK LETTERS. Ensure your name matches your matriculation certificate.
- Documents: Upload a clear colored passport-size photo and signature.
- Hard Copy Submission (Mandatory): After online submission, you must send a self-signed printed copy of your application and self-attested copies of all certificates (Matric, Intermediate, Degree, Experience, Caste, Local Resident) to JPSC via Registered/Speed Post.
- Address: Controller of Examinations, JPSC, Circular Road, Ranchi, 834001.
- Deadline for Hard Copy: 05.03.2026 (05:00 PM).
