RCB Invites Applications for Project Associate-I in Antifungal Drug Resistance Research

The Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB), a national institution recognized for excellence in research and education, has announced a vacancy for a Project Associate-I position. This role is a part of a crucial research project focused on developing novel therapeutic strategies for antifungal drug resistance.

The selected candidate will be involved in the project titled “Elucidating the Role of Histone modifications in Antifungal Drug Resistance of Candida Auris: A pathway to novel therapeutic strategies,” under the guidance of Principal Investigator Dr. Surbhi Kohli, MK Bhan Fellow, and Mentor Dr. Anil Thakur, Associate Professor. The position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in a globally competitive milieu.


Position and Eligibility Details

  • Post: Project Associate-I
  • Number of Positions: 1
  • Duration: Initially for one year, extendable up to a maximum of two years.
  • Age Limit: The maximum age is 28 years.
  • Essential Qualifications: A Master’s or M.Tech degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or Genomics.
  • Desirable Qualifications: Candidates with one year of prior experience in yeast genetics, molecular biology, and epigenetics research (including techniques like chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) and co-immunoprecipitation (Co-IP)) will be given preference.
  • Fellowship: A fellowship of ₹25,000 + 27% HRA per month.

Application and Interview Process

Interested candidates must submit their applications online by August 18, 2025, at 5:00 PM. Applicants are required to upload a copy of their M.Sc. degree certificate, a summary of their dissertation research, and a certificate of experience.

  • Application Deadline: August 18, 2025, 5:00 PM.
  • Shortlisting Notification: Shortlisted candidates will be notified via email by August 22, 2025.
  • Online Interview: The online interview is scheduled for August 28, 2025, at 10:00 AM.
