The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Pune, a premier institute for research in basic sciences, is holding a walk-in interview for a Lab Technician position. This role is a temporary and contractual appointment under the Animal House facility.
Job Profile and Candidate Requirements
The position is for a Lab Technician in the Zebra Fish Facility. The selected candidate will be responsible for the daily management and maintenance of the zebrafish, including record-keeping and other routine activities of the facility.
- Educational Qualification: Applicants should have a B.Pharm or a Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or an equivalent qualification.
- Desirable Experience: While not mandatory, candidates with at least one year of experience in zebrafish husbandry, maintenance, and experimental work with laboratory animal models are preferred.
- Compensation: The consolidated salary is Rs. 25,000 per month.
- Tenure: The appointment is for an initial period of six months, which may be extended based on performance.
- Age Limit: The maximum age for applicants is 32 years as of the date of the walk-in interview.
Walk-in Interview Details
Interested and eligible candidates must attend the walk-in interview on Tuesday, September 16, 2025.
- Time & Venue: Candidates must report at 02:00 PM to Seminar room 34, Second floor, Main Building, IISER Pune, Dr. Homi Bhabha Road, Pune 411008. Anyone reporting after 02:30 PM will not be considered.
- Documents Required: Applicants must bring a filled-out application form, a recent passport-size color photograph, a photo ID, and all original and one set of self-attested photocopies of their educational and experience certificates.
It’s important to note that this is a temporary position and does not guarantee a permanent appointment at the institute. No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.
