
The Department of Science & Technology (DST) is inviting applications for the position of Mission Director for the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NM-ICPS). This is a non-ministerial, Group ‘A’ Gazetted post to be filled on a deputation (including short-term contract) basis.
Position Details
- Post: Mission Director, NM-ICPS
- Pay Scale: Level 14 (Rs. 1,44,200 – 2,18,200)
- Tenure: The deputation is for five years, or until the age of 60, or until the continuation of the post (currently up to December 5, 2027), whichever is earlier.
- Age Limit: The maximum age for applicants is 58 years as of the last date of application receipt.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be officers from the Central Government, State Governments, Public Sector Undertakings, Universities, or recognized research institutions who meet the following requirements:
Experience:
- Holding an analogous post on a regular basis.
- OR two years of service in a Level 13A equivalent post.
- OR three years of service in a Level 13 equivalent post.
Essential Qualifications:
- A Doctorate degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences, OR a Master’s degree in Engineering, Technology, or Medicine.
- 15 years of experience in R&D within academic or industrial institutions, with at least 7 years in administration, planning, and coordination of science and technology programs.
- Proven experience in managing and directing science and technology programs.
- A record of published research work in reputable journals.
Desirable Qualifications:
- A Doctorate degree in Engineering, Technology, or Medicine, or Post-Doctorate research in Natural or Agricultural Sciences.
Application Process
The application process is a mandatory two-step procedure:
- Online Application: Candidates must first fill out an online application form on the DST’s recruitment portal, which will be open for 45 days from the date of the advertisement’s publication. They must upload all relevant documents and certificates.
- Hard Copy Submission: After completing the online form, candidates must print a hard copy of the application and forward it through the proper channel (their current employer) to the Under Secretary (Establishment-III), Department of Science and Technology, New Delhi. This hard copy, along with attested copies of ACRs/APARs for the last five years, must be received within 30 days of the online portal’s closing date (or 45 days for specified remote areas).
Applications received after the deadline, or those that are incomplete, will be summarily rejected. Advance copies of applications will not be considered.
