Candidate Profile and Qualifications
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree is mandatory (Science, Commerce, or Engineering – Electronics/Electrical/Instrumentation/Optometry). An MBA is considered an added advantage.
- Experience: Requires a minimum of 5-6 years of experience in sales, with at least 3-4 years specifically within the medical device, healthcare, or ophthalmology industry.
- Required Skills: Expertise in Account Management, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Channel Management, and Channel Partner Enablement. Must possess strong Communication, Problem Solving, and Business Savvy skills, alongside deep Product Knowledge related to medical technology.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
The Key Account Manager will manage the entire commercial cycle within the assigned territory, from sales execution to relationship building:
- Sales Target Achievement: Responsible for achieving Annual Sales Targets and ensuring 100% sales achievement on a monthly and quarterly basis through the right product mix.
- Market Expansion & Strategy: Focus on upgrading existing JJSV IOL users to Premium IOLs (Intraocular Lenses). Proactively track IOL/OVD/Phaco market-share and monitor competition to maintain market leadership.
- Equipment & Financial Management: Coordinate equipment Demos, structure effective bundling deals as per MOUs, and ensure strict AR (Accounts Receivable) control to minimize outstanding payments.
- Customer Development: Build and strengthen relationships with internal and external customers, including Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and distributors. Regularly attend OTs (Operation Theatres) to understand customer needs and provide support.
- Reporting & Intelligence: Maintain field reporting discipline, timely submission of reports, and accurate data recording and analysis. Keep updated records of the JJSV installation base and competitor activity.
- Scientific Engagement: Enhance product knowledge and support sales by conducting regular scientific programs such as CME (Continuing Medical Education) and round table meetings.
