
The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) has invited applications for the position of Project Research Scientist – I (Non-Medical) to work on an externally funded research project. The contract position offers a significant consolidated monthly remuneration of Rs. 67,200/-.
Project and Position Overview
The selected candidate will be contracted for an expected duration of 10 months to work on a critical public health initiative.
- Project Title: “To study the effectiveness of Trauma Quality Improvement Programs (TQIP’s) in improving Trauma care outcomes at Tertiary care Hospitals in India.”
- Funding Agency: Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR)
- Principal Investigator (PI): Dr. Jagdish Menon, Department of Orthopaedics.
- Remuneration: Rs. 67,200/- per month (consisting of a salary of Rs. $56,000$ plus $20\%$ HRA).
Essential Qualifications and Experience
Candidates must meet the following essential criteria and have a maximum age of 35 years as of the application deadline:
- Essential Qualifications: Must possess an M.Sc. in Epidemiology, M.Sc. in Clinical Research, M.Sc. in Life Sciences, or a Master of Public Health (MPH).
- Required Experience: Two years of relevant research experience must be gained after acquiring the essential qualification.
Desirable Criteria: Preference will be given to candidates holding an MBBS/BDS degree, a Degree in Clinical Research, course certification in computer applications, and prior experience managing funded extramural/intramural projects.
Roles and Selection Process
The role involves high-level research coordination, data management, and training activities, including:
- Coordinating formative research, outcome assessment, and project implementation.
- Supervising and guiding other project staff in their daily tasks.
- Conducting detailed literature searches, data analysis, and report writing.
- Working effectively as part of a team.
The selection process will involve a rigorous evaluation:
