Sun Pharma Seeks Process Equipment Manager for New Greenfield Manufacturing Site in Indore

Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd., India’s leading and a global top-tier pharmaceutical company, has announced a significant hiring opportunity for a Process Equipment Manager at its new, state-of-the-art greenfield site in Pithampur, Indore. This role is a key position within the company’s Sun Global Operations business unit, and is open to qualified candidates with a background in Pharmacy.

The Pithampur plant represents a major strategic move, and the selected candidate will play a pivotal role in establishing and maintaining the manufacturing and component sterilization processes for complex pharmaceutical products.

Core Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader, overseeing critical manufacturing and equipment-related activities. Key responsibilities include:

Production & Process Management: Taking full ownership of manufacturing areas, with a specific focus on the production of liquid products, including complex injectables, media, and suspensions.
Equipment Expertise: Managing a wide range of specialized process equipment, such as manufacturing and filtration skids, suspension manufacturing skids, and Clean-in-Place/Sterilize-in-Place (CIP/SIP) systems. This also extends to handling dispensing and manufacturing isolators, pH and DO meters, and integrity testers.
Washing & Sterilization: Overseeing the component washing and sterilization areas, including the operation and maintenance of equipment like Autoclaves, Terminal sterilizers, ultrasonication machines, GMP washers, VHP pass boxes, and leak test machines.
Procurement & Vendor Coordination: Leading the procurement process for new manufacturing and sterilization equipment, working closely with vendors and the internal procurement team to ensure equipment designs meet stringent technical and operational specifications.
Quality & Compliance: Ensuring all production and equipment-related activities adhere strictly to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and other regulatory guidelines.
Documentation & Protocol Execution: Preparing, executing, and reviewing essential documentation, including User Requirement Specifications (URS), Design Qualification (DQ), Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), and Performance Qualification (PQ) protocols for new equipment. The role also involves developing new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Batch Manufacturing Records (BMRs).
Quality Management Systems (QMS): Actively managing QMS documents, including change controls, Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs), risk assessments, and deviations.
Project Leadership: Efficiently planning and executing qualification activities, ensuring optimal allocation of manpower to meet project timelines.

Candidate Requirements:

Sun Pharma is looking for a dynamic and experienced professional to fill this critical role.

Experience: A minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant experience within the pharmaceutical industry is required.
Educational Qualification: Candidates must hold a B.Pharm or M.Pharm degree from a recognized institution.
Location: The position is based at the new greenfield site in Pithampur, Indore.
