Walk-in Interviews for Chemistry and Medicinal Chemistry Candidates at CSIR-NIIST

The National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology (NIIST), Thiruvananthapuram, a constituent laboratory of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), invites eligible candidates for a walk-in interview to fill two purely temporary project positions.

NIIST, which was initially established in 1975 and renamed in 2007, focuses on high-quality research and development utilizing regional resources and addressing areas of fundamental national importance.

1. Project Associate-I

Essential Qualification	M.Sc. in Chemistry from a recognized University or Equivalent.
Desirable Experience	Experience of writing the manuscript, project proposal, and policy.
Monthly Stipend	₹31,000/- + 18% HRA for those who have qualified CSIR-UGC / ICAR / ICMR NET OR GATE.
	₹25,000/- + 18% HRA for others who do not fall under the above criteria.

2. Research Associate-I

Essential Qualification	Ph.D. in Chemistry / Medical Chemistry from a recognized University or Equivalent.
Desirable Experience	Lab Experience in synthetic organic chemistry. Knowledge of the design and synthesis of molecular probes having photodynamic therapy & their photophysical characterization.
Monthly Stipend	₹47,000/- + 16% HRA
Age Limit (Max.)	40 Years (as on the date of Walk-in-interview)

Selection and Application Procedure

Mode of Selection:

Interested eligible candidates must report at CSIR-NIIST, Pappanamcode, Thiruvananthapuram at 09:00 AM on the date assigned for the respective post code.
Candidates arriving after 09:30 AM will not be entertained.
Only candidates whose final results have been declared as on the date of the walk-in-interview will be eligible.
A Written Test will be conducted, if necessary.

How to Apply:

Candidates must download the prescribed application form (provided with the original notification).
Fill in all requisite information, sign the form, and paste a recent photograph.
Submit the filled-in application form at the time of the Walk-in-Interview, accompanied by:
- SELF ATTESTED COPIES of certificates and mark lists (matriculation onwards) in support of age, educational qualification, experience, and caste.
Crucially, applicants must bring ALL ORIGINAL CERTIFICATES / TESTIMONIALS for verification.

Other Important Information:

Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/Physically handicapped and female candidates will be applicable as per GOI/CSIR Rules.
Waitlisted Candidates may be considered for any future project vacancies arising within a year from the date of the interview, in order of merit.
