Senior Project Associate Walk-in-Interview at Bose Institute for Research in Chromosome Segregation

The Bose Institute, Asia’s first modern research center known for its interdisciplinary research tradition spanning over a century, is seeking applications for a temporary research position. Interested and eligible candidates are invited to attend a walk-in interview for the post of Senior Project Associate.

Position and Project Details

  • Post: Senior Project Associate (One position only)
  • Project Title: “Structure-function analysis of chromosome segregation machinery”
  • Funding: Intramural Project (Bose Institute)
  • Guide: Prof. Kaustuv Sanyal, Department of Biological Sciences
  • Initial Tenure: Six (06) months, with potential for renewal based on successful performance assessment.
  • Monthly Emoluments: ₹42,000/- + HRA

Essential Qualifications

Candidates must satisfy one of the two following criteria for the position:

Option A (Master’s Degree + Experience):

  1. Educational Qualification: Master’s Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences / MVSc, OR a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine.
  2. Experience: Four years of experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations and Scientific activities and services.

OR

Option B (Doctoral Degree):

  • Doctoral Degree in Science / Engineering / Technology / Pharma / MD / MS from a recognized University or equivalent.

Desirable Qualifications and Age Limit

  • Desirable Experience: Preference will be given to candidates with experience in:
    • Yeast genetics
    • Molecular biology
    • Cell biology
    • Handling experience of mice as an animal model.
    • Proven records of research experience is required.
  • Upper Age Limit: 40 years. Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC candidates will be applicable as per Government rules.

Walk-in-Interview Details

Eligible candidates must appear for the interview on the specified date and time:

  • Date & Time: 15th October, 2025 at 11:00 a.m.
  • Venue: Unified Campus of Bose Institute, Block-EN, Plot No-80, Sector-V, Salt Lake City, Kolkata 700091.

Application Procedure for Interview

Candidates must bring the following to the interview:

  1. A typed application clearly quoting the Advertisement No. and Position, addressed to the Registrar (Officiating), Bose Institute.
  2. A complete Bio-data detailing qualifications (examination passed, year, division, percentage of marks from Secondary onwards) and the area of research experience.
  3. Self-attested copies of Certificates, Mark-sheets, and other testimonials.
  4. Original mark-sheets, certificates, and testimonials for verification.

Note: No TA/DA will be admissible for attending the interview.
