CSIR-CFTRI Research Associate (RA-I) Recruitment 2025 Ph.D. Opportunity in Food Fortification

The CSIR – Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), located in Mysuru, a constituent National Laboratory of the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), has issued a call for applications to engage a qualified candidate for the temporary position of Research Associate – I (RA-I).

This engagement is for the project titled “Analytical Quality Control & Quality Assurance in Rice Fortification” (Project GAP 640), focusing on critical R&D and analytical work in food science.

Stipend & HRA	₹42,000/- per month + 20% HRA (Total: approx. ₹50,400/- per month)
Location	CSIR-CFTRI, Mysuru, Karnataka
Tenure	Initially up to March 31, 2026, extendable up to August 31, 2026, or till the project end, whichever is earlier. The maximum cumulative tenure in CSIR is 6 years.

Essential and Desirable Qualifications

Essential Qualification	Ph.D. in Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Chemistry / Food Science & Technology or an equivalent degree.
Age Limit	35 years maximum as on November 17, 2025. Age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST/Women/PwBD and 3 years for OBC is applicable.
Desirable Qualification	Experience in a reputed R&D institute in areas like food analysis using modern analytical instruments, method validation, food product development, and proficiency in MS-Office tools.
Job Role	R&D, Analytical, and Lab Work.

Result Declared Mandatory: Only candidates whose Ph.D. results have already been declared are eligible. Result awaited/final semester appearing candidates are not eligible.
CSIR Tenure Limit: Applicants who have completed the total tenure of 6 years as Project Staff in any CSIR lab/institute are NOT ELIGIBLE.
Selection: Candidates will be shortlisted based on criteria like marks in essential qualifications or higher qualifications/experience, and then called for an interview. No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.
