
The National Institute of Technology (NIT), Silchar, an Institute of National Importance, has announced a temporary, contractual opening for a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in its Department of Physics. The position is funded by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) for a highly relevant research project focused on sustainable energy.

Eligibility Criteria
The project is interdisciplinary and welcomes candidates from various science and engineering backgrounds, provided they meet the basic GATE/NET requirement:
- Age Limit: 28 Years (Relaxation of up to 5 years for SC/ST/OBC/WOMEN/PWD candidates).
- Essential Qualification: Candidates must have a B.S. (4 years programme) / B.Pharm / MBBS / Integrated BS-MS / M.Sc / BE / B.Tech or equivalent degree, with a minimum of 55% marks.
- Mandatory Requirement: Passing of NET / GATE test is essential.
- Desirable Experience: M.Sc. Physics with practical experience in Nanomaterials Synthesis and Characterization.
Core Job Description
The JRF will be heavily involved in the experimental aspects of the project, including:
- Synthesis of Quantum Dots and Titania nanomaterials.
- Development of metal oxide hetero junctions.
- Fabrication and testing of a photo catalytic reactor specifically for green hydrogen generation.
