
The Indian Council of Agricultural Research – National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources (ICAR-NBPGR), New Delhi, is inviting applications for a temporary position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under a time-bound research project.

- Location: Division of Germplasm Evaluation, ICAR-NBPGR Old Building, Pusa Campus, New Delhi – 12.
- Project Tenure: 3 Years (The project runs from January 2025 to December 2027).
The project is titled: “Developing Traits for Low Rancidity High Self Life, And Better Nutrient Profile in Minor Millet Germplasm.” The selected candidate will be involved in research activities pertaining to this project.
Qualification and Compensation
Essential Qualifications
Candidates must meet the following criteria (with 55% marks or equivalent):
- Hold one of the following degrees: BS 4 years programme / B.Pharm / MBBS / Integrated BS-MS / M.Sc / B.E. / B.Tech or equivalent. OR
- Hold a Post Graduate Degree in Basic/Allied Sciences (e.g., Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Material Science, Environment Science, or Any discipline of Life Sciences). OR
- Hold a Graduate/Post Graduate Degree in a Professional Course (e.g., Chemical Engineering/Biotechnology/Material Sciences).
Mandatory Requirement: The candidate must have qualified a National Eligibility Test (NET) such as CSIR-UGC NET (including lectureship/Assistant Professorship) or GATE.
Desirable Qualification
- Research experience in analytical techniques within Biochemistry or Chemical Science is highly desirable.
Emoluments and Age Limit
- Fellowship: ₹37,000 per month + HRA (as per CSIR rules).
- Age Limit:28 Years.
- (The upper age limit is relax-able up to 5 years for SC/ST/Women and Physically Handicapped candidates).

- The post is strictly temporary and co-terminus with the project.
- The selected candidate will have no right to claim for regularization or absorption in ICAR/NBPGR.
- No TA/DA or official accommodation will be provided for attending the interview.
- Candidates are required to bring the relevant original certificates/mark sheets, along with an application, full bio-data, photocopies of certificates from matriculation onwards (duly attested), and a passport-size photograph at the time of joining (if selected).
