JNCASR Recruitment: Project Scientist III at EOBU

The Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR), an autonomous institution under the Department of Science and Technology (DST) and a Deemed-to-be-University, is seeking an experienced researcher for the position of Project Scientist III.

This role is based at the Evolutionary and Organismal Biology Unit (EOBU) and is ideal for candidates with a strong background in ecology, evolution, and academic mentorship.

Eligibility & Expertise

JNCASR is looking for a seasoned scientist with both research and teaching capabilities.

Essential Qualification: * Doctoral degree (PhD) in Science with a thesis focused on Ecology or Evolution.
- Minimum of seven years of post-PhD experience in R&D, academic institutions, or S&T organizations.
Desired Expertise:
- Proven track record in theoretical, computational, or experimental ecology/evolution.
- Ability to teach advanced topics such as Population & Community Ecology, Epidemiology, and Evolutionary Ecology.
- Prior teaching experience in core ecological areas is highly desirable.

Job Description

The selected candidate will play a vital role in the academic infrastructure of the EOBU:

Integrated BS(Res)-PhD Programme: Assist in the management and growth of the program.
Curriculum Development: Develop and teach at least two semester-long 4-credit courses.
Student Mentorship: Help students plan and execute specialized research projects.
