IISc Bangalore Recruitment: Scientist D Opening for Pharma & Life Sciences

The Regional Resource Centre for Health Technology Assessment (HTAIn-RRC-IISc), operating within the prestigious Indian Institute of Science (IISc), has announced a high-level vacancy for the position of Scientist D. This role is a strategic bridge between laboratory science and national healthcare policy, focusing on the evaluation of medical technologies and AI tools for the Indian health system.


Vacancy Details

  • Post: Scientist D (Medical / Non-Medical)
  • Vacancies: 01
  • Location: IISc, Bangalore
  • Salary: Rs. 78,000 + HRA
  • Age Limit: 45 years

Educational Qualifications

For Non-Medical Candidates

  • Ph.D. in Microbiology, Biochemistry, or Biotechnology with 5 years of post-Ph.D. R&D/Teaching experience.
  • OR First Class MPH / PharmD / Master’s degree with 8 years of experience.
  • OR Second Class M.Sc/MPH + Ph.D. with 8 years of post-qualification experience.

For Medical Candidates

  • MD / MS / DNB / MPH after MBBS with 6 years of research experience.
  • OR MBBS with 8 years of experience.
  • OR Ph.D. in relevant medical subjects (e.g., Epidemiology, Public Health) with 5 years of experience.

Core Responsibilities

  • HTA Leadership: Lead R&D studies to evaluate health technologies and digital health tools.
  • Project Management: Oversight of technical implementation and scientific aspects of HTA projects.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate with State governments, medical colleges, and the Technical Appraisal Committee.
  • Capacity Building: Organize national-level workshops, seminars, and stakeholder meetings.
