
Banaras Hindu University (BHU) is inviting applications from eligible candidates for a temporary position as a Junior Research Assistant (JRA). The position is for a research project titled “Development of Indigenous Cyanobacterial-Microalgal Consortia for Sustainable Rice Growth,” which is sanctioned by the Council of Science and Technology, Uttar Pradesh (CSTUP).
Job and Eligibility Details
- Post: Junior Research Assistant (J.R.A.)
- Duration: The project and the post are co-terminus and will last for three years.
- Remuneration: A consolidated fellowship of Rs. 25,000 per month for the first two years, and Rs. 28,000 per month for the third year.
- Age Limit: Maximum of 28 years as of April 1, 2025. Age relaxation for SC/ST/PH candidates will be as per Government of India rules.
- Essential and Mandatory Qualifications:
- An M.Sc. degree in Botany, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Life Science, Applied Microbiology, or Biochemistry.
- Candidates must have a first-division in both their undergraduate and postgraduate examinations.
- Desirable Qualifications: Candidates with experience in microbiology, algal biology, rice plant research, and maintenance will be given preference.
- Residency: Only Indian citizens who are residents of Uttar Pradesh are eligible to apply.
