ILS Bhubaneswar Recruitment 2025: Research & Management Openings in Marine Biotechnology

The Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar, an autonomous institute under the Department of Biotechnology (Govt. of India), has announced a high-impact recruitment drive. These positions are part of the Odisha-DST funded “Centre of Excellence in Marine Biotechnology” (OMBRIC-ILS), focusing on the bioprospecting of marine biota.

This project offers a unique opportunity for Pharmacy and Life Sciences professionals to contribute to cutting-edge research in marine resources, with a project duration potentially extending up to 5 years.

Vacant Positions & Eligibility

The recruitment covers three distinct levels of expertise, ranging from facility management to entry-level research.

1. Project Coordinator / Manager cum Facility In-charge

Post: 01
Age Limit: Below 55 years (as of Dec 31, 2025).
Remuneration: Rs. 60,000 to Rs. 1,25,000 per month (Consolidated).
Eligibility: PhD or Master’s in Pharmacy, Science, Veterinary Science, or Business Administration.
Desirable: Over 10 years of experience in managing scientific or administrative projects.

2. Senior Project Associate / Project Associate III

Posts: 02
Age Limit: 40 years.
Remuneration: Rs. 42,000 + 20% HRA per month.
Eligibility: M.Sc. / M.Tech / M.Pharm. / M.V.Sc. or PhD in Life Sciences.
Specialization: Candidates with experience in NGS (Next-Generation Sequencing) data analysis, metagenomes, and programming (R-Bioconductor/Python) are highly preferred.

3. Project Associate I

Posts: 02
Age Limit: 35 years.
Remuneration: Rs. 25,000 + 20% HRA per month.
Eligibility: M.Sc. / M.Tech / M.Pharm. / M.V.Sc. in Life Sciences or allied subjects (Biochemistry, Microbiology, Virology, etc.) with minimum 55% marks.

The selection will be a two-step process involving rigorous application screening followed by a hybrid-mode interview.
