The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, is inviting applications for a high-impact research position under the Laboratory Oncology Unit at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Institute Rotary Cancer Hospital (Dr. BRAIRCH).

The project, titled “Identification of BCR:ABL1 Independent Resistance Mechanisms from Multi-omics Data of Indian CML Patients and Finding Novel Prognostic Markers Using AI/ML Techniques,” focuses on using cutting-edge artificial intelligence and multi-omics data to tackle treatment resistance in Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML).

Eligibility Criteria

1. Essential Qualifications

  • First Class Post Graduate Degree (including integrated PG degrees).
  • OR Second Class Post Graduate Degree (including integrated PG degrees) with a Ph.D.

2. Desirable Experience

  • Ph.D. Degree in a relevant field.
  • Hands-on experience with molecular biology techniques (e.g., DNA/RNA extraction, PCR).
  • Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS): Experience in sample preparation for NGS.
  • Cloning: Practical experience in molecular cloning techniques.

Research Context: CML & Multi-omics

Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML) is often characterized by the $BCR:ABL1$ fusion gene. However, many patients develop resistance through mechanisms independent of this gene. This project aims to identify those specific resistance pathways using multi-omics (genomics, transcriptomics, etc.) and AI/ML algorithms to improve patient prognosis.
