BHU Recruitment 2026: Project Research Scientist-I for ICMR-Sponsored Cancer Research

Banaras Hindu University (BHU) is inviting applications for a Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical) position under a prestigious ICMR-funded project. The research focuses on Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML), specifically using AI/ML and Multi-omics data to identify resistance mechanisms and prognostic markers.

Job Details: Project Research Scientist-I

Project Title: Identification of BCR-ABL Independent Resistance Mechanisms from Multi-omics Data of Indian CML Patients.
Location: Bioinformatics, MMV, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi.
Fellowship: ₹56,000 + 18% HRA per month.
Tenure: Initially 1 year, extendable up to 3 years (co-terminus with the project).
Age Limit: 35 years (Relaxation: 5 years for Female/SC/ST/PH; 3 years for OBC).

Eligibility Criteria

Mandatory (Any one of the following):

First-class Post Graduate Degree (including Integrated PG) in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Systems Biology, Genomics, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or a relevant subject.
Second-class Post Graduate Degree in the above subjects plus a PhD.

Desirable Skills:

Research experience in NGS (Next-Generation Sequencing) and multi-omics data analysis.
Expertise in Mammalian cell culture and molecular biology techniques.
