BITS Pilani (Pilani Campus) is inviting applications for a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position under a research project funded by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), New Delhi. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on a patented lead compound targeting obesity and metabolic disorders.

Project Overview

Project Title: Optimization of Patented Lead BITS-NPRG-243 for Dual Inhibition of Pancreatic Lipase and Adipogenesis: Rational Design, Chemical Synthesis, Preclinical, Toxicological and Pharmacokinetics Evaluation.
Principal Investigator: Dr. Richa Shrivastava, Department of Pharmacy.
Tenure: 1 year (Extendable to 2 years based on performance).
Funding Agency: ANRF, New Delhi.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification: M.Pharm / M.S. Pharm in Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacology, or Biotechnology.
Upper Age Limit: 28 years (Age relaxation applicable as per Govt. rules).

Job Description

The responsibilities vary based on the candidate’s specialization:

Chemistry Background: Design and chemical synthesis of the patented lead BITS-NPRG-243.
Pharmacology/Biotech Background: Conducting in-vitro enzyme assays, adipocyte cell-based bio-assays, in-vivo studies, toxicology, and pharmacokinetic evaluations.
