BRIC-ILS Bhubaneswar Recruitment: JRF and Senior Project Associate Vacancies

The BRIC-Institute of Life Sciences (BRIC-ILS), an autonomous institute under the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), is inviting applications for two research positions in Bhubaneswar. These roles are part of high-level projects funded by DST-SERB and ICMR, focusing on immunology and marine bioresources.

1. Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

This role focuses on molecular biology and the immune response of human macrophages.

• Project: Role of SMARCD isoforms in monocyte/macrophage immune response.
• Investigator: Dr. Punit Prasad.
• Fellowship: Rs. 31,000 + HRA per month.
• Duration: 5 months.
• Eligibility:
  • M.Sc. in Life Sciences (Biotech, Micro, Biochem, etc.) with 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC).
  • Must have qualified: NET-JRF / NET-LS / GATE / GPAT / BET.
  • Preferred Skills: Cell culture, ChIP, RT-PCR, and NGS library preparation.
• Age Limit: 28 years (as of 13.04.2026).

2. Senior Project Associate: Bioinformatics

This position involves exploring marine ecosystems for industrial and health-related bioresources.

• Project: Exploring marine ecosystems for novel bioresources.
• Investigator: Dr. Debasis Dash.
• Fellowship: Rs. 42,000 + 18% HRA per month.
• Eligibility:
  • Master’s in Science/MVSc or Bachelor’s in Engineering/Medicine with 4 years of R&D experience.
  • OR a Doctoral degree (Ph.D./MD/MS) in Science, Pharma, or Technology.
• Preferred Skills: NGS data analysis (Whole-genome, metagenomes), R-Bioconductor, and Python programming.
• Age Limit: 35 years (as of 13.04.2026).
