
The CSIR-Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (CSIR-CIMAP), a leading research institute in India, is conducting a walk-in-interview to recruit qualified candidates for several temporary positions as Project Associate-I and Project Associate-II. The roles are based at its Research Centre in Bengaluru and are part of various sponsored research projects.
Job Profiles and Qualifications
CSIR-CIMAP is looking for a total of five Project Associates across different disciplines. The maximum age limit for all positions is 35 years. The qualifications are as follows:
- For Project Associate-I:
- M.Sc. in Botany, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or Chemistry from a recognized university.
- For Project Associate-II:
- M.Sc. in one of the above-mentioned subjects with a minimum of two years of relevant research and development (R&D) experience.
Candidates with a strong academic record and a First Class in their M.Sc. are highly preferred.
Specific Desirable Experience
The projects are diverse, and specific desirable qualifications have been listed for each role to match the project’s requirements:
- Botany: Experience in plant taxonomy, field collection, DNA marker development, genetic diversity studies, and agricultural field surveys is preferred.
- Biochemistry/Microbiology/Biotechnology: Experience in yeast biology is a plus.
- Chemistry: Experience in natural product chemistry, analytical chemistry of plant secondary metabolites, or chemical ecology is desirable.
Remuneration and Tenure
The monthly salary for the positions varies based on the candidate’s qualifications and whether they have cleared a National Eligibility Test (NET) like CSIR-UGC or GATE.
- Project Associate-I:
- ₹31,000 + HRA for NET/GATE qualified candidates.
- ₹25,000 + HRA for others.
- Project Associate-II:
- ₹35,000 + HRA for NET/GATE qualified candidates.
- ₹28,000 + HRA for others.
The positions are temporary, with an initial tenure of one year, which may be extended based on performance and project requirements. The total tenure will not exceed six years.
