The Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR), an autonomous institution in Bangalore, is inviting applications for a temporary position of Technical Assistant to operate advanced microscopy equipment.
This is a single-post vacancy with a monthly salary of ₹28,000 + 30% HRA. The last date to apply is September 10, 2025.
Essential and Desirable Qualifications
- Essential Qualification: Candidates must have a Master’s or equivalent degree.
- Desirable Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in advanced microscopy techniques such as Fluorescence microscopy, Laser scanning Confocal microscopy, and super-resolution microscopy (like Airy scan).
- Practical knowledge of image acquisition software and the ability to image a variety of samples, from bacteria to 3D cultures and tissue samples.
- Proficiency in image analysis software and pipeline building.
- Prior experience working in a core imaging facility.
- Experience in training researchers and students, writing reports, and maintaining equipment logs.
- The ability to work independently or with minimum supervision.
