TMC Announces Multiple Scientific Officer Positions for Life Sciences, Chemistry, Microbiology, and Biotechnology Candidates

The Tata Memorial Centre (TMC), a premier cancer center funded by the Department of Atomic Energy, is inviting applications for several full-time Scientific Officer positions at its Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital & Research Centres in New Chandigarh and Sangrur, Punjab.
The vacancies are open to eligible Indian nationals with a background in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Microbiology, and Biotechnology, among other fields.
Position Details & Salary
1. Scientific Officer ‘D’ (Central Sterile Service Department – CSSD)
- Salary: Level 11, Cell 1 – ₹67,700 per month + applicable allowances.
- Qualifications: M.Sc. in Chemistry, Physics, Zoology, Microbiology, or Biotechnology with at least 50% marks. A Post Graduate Diploma in Hospital Management is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 15 years in a CSSD of a 150+ bedded hospital, or 10 years in a 300+ bedded hospital. At least 5 years must be in a senior position.
- Age Limit: 45 to 50 years.
2. Scientific Officer ‘C’ (HLA & Immunogenetics Laboratory)
- Salary: Level 10, Cell 1 – ₹56,100 per month + applicable allowances.
- Qualifications: M.Sc. (Life Sciences / Applied Biology). Ph.D. candidates will be given preference.
- Experience: At least one year of experience in Molecular Biology.
- Age Limit: Up to 35 years.
3. Scientific Officer ‘SB’ (Biochemistry)
- Salary: Level 08, Cell 1 – ₹47,600 per month + applicable allowances.
- Qualifications: M.Sc. in Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Biotechnology. A Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology is preferred.
- Experience: At least one year of experience in a clinical laboratory of a large hospital. Must be well-acquainted with auto analyzers and able to interpret electrophoresis results.
- Age Limit: Up to 35 years.
4. Scientific Officer ‘SB’ (Pathology)
- Salary: Level 08, Cell 1 – ₹47,600 per month + applicable allowances.
- Qualifications: M.Sc. in Botany, Zoology, Biochemistry, Applied Biology, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, or Microbiology, or M.Tech in Biotechnology or Life Sciences. A Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology is required.
- Experience: At least one year of experience in a Histopathology, Immunohistochemistry, or Molecular Pathology diagnostic laboratory.
- Age Limit: Up to 35 years.
5. Scientific Officer ‘SB’ (Transfusion Medicine)
- Number of Posts: 2 (1 UR, 1 OBC)
- Salary: Level 08, Cell 1 – ₹47,600 per month + applicable allowances.
- Qualifications: M.Sc. in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, or Microbiology with a minimum of 50% marks, and a Degree/Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology/Blood Bank Technology.
- Experience: At least one year of experience in an FDA-licensed Blood Bank.
- Age Limit: Up to 35 years.
