
The Institute of Microbial Technology (IMTECH), a national laboratory under the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), has a new opening for a Project Associate-I (PAT-I). This is a temporary, research-oriented position on a project focused on microbial biotechnology.
Project Details
The successful candidate will join the project titled “CO2 sequestration and bioconversion into poly hydroxyl alkanoates (PHAs) by using genetically modified phototrophic purple non-sulfur bacteria and Cyanobacteria.” This project aims to use genetic modification of specific bacteria to capture carbon dioxide and convert it into a useful material.
Eligibility and Compensation
- Essential Qualification: Candidates must have a Master’s/Integrated Master’s in Natural, Agricultural, or Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, or Medicine from a recognized university.
- Desirable Experience: While not mandatory, experience in culturing, particularly photosynthetic bacteria, and molecular identification is a plus.
- Age Limit: The upper age limit is 35 years, with relaxations for candidates from SC/ST/OBC, PwBD, and women.
- Monthly Emoluments:
- ₹31,000 + HRA for candidates who have qualified for a national-level examination such as CSIR-UGC/ICAR/ICMR NET or GATE.
- ₹25,000 + HRA for all other candidates.
