This position is part of a crucial ICMR-funded nationwide initiative: Hospital-Based Surveillance of Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES).
This project aims to strengthen India’s diagnostic network and understand the infectious etiologies of AES, a critical public health concern.

Essential Qualifications
- Option A: 1st Class Master’s degree in Life Sciences + 2 years of related experience.
- Option B: 2nd Class Master’s Degree + Ph.D. in a relevant subject.
Desirable Skills
- Ph.D. in Microbiology, Biotechnology, or Veterinary Sciences with 1 year of R&D experience.
- Hands-on experience with molecular techniques (Real-time PCR, ELISA) and clinical samples.
- Knowledge of GLP, LQMS (ISO 15189), and Data Management tools.
Role & Responsibilities
The selected scientist will act as a coordinator for all research activities, which includes:
- Managing reagent distribution and supplies across centers.
- Troubleshooting laboratory assays.
- Ensuring laboratory quality management and NABL standards are met.
- Data management and interaction with collaborative research sites.
