The BRIC-National Agri-Food and Biomanufacturing Institute (NABI), an autonomous institute under the Department of Biotechnology (Govt. of India), is inviting applications for several high-level research positions. Located in Mohali, NABI is a premier hub for nutritional security, bio-fortification, and translational science.

Open Positions & Eligibility

NABI is looking for specialized personnel for multiple projects ranging from plant tissue culture to neuroscience and green technology.

Research Associate I (RA-I)	Genetic Engineering & Nano-bio	PhD/MD/MS in M.Pharma/MVSc/M.Tech with 3 years research & 1 SCI publication.	₹58,000 + HRA
Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical)	Neuroscience & Metabolic Pathways	1st Class PG (M.Pharm/M.Sc/M.Tech) in Pharmacology/Biotech/Biochem/Life Sciences.	₹56,000 + HRA
Research Associate I	Lignin & Green Technology	PhD in Chemical/Biochemical/Environmental Engineering or Biotech/Biochem.	₹58,000 + HRA

Key Research Areas

Nutritional Enrichment: Molecular and biochemical characterization of genetically engineered crops.
Neuroscience: Targeting brain macrophages to study sugar withdrawal and compulsive eating (requires experience with mice and LC-MS/MS).
Bio-Materials: Lignin valorization through depolymerization and green chemical engineering.

The selection will be conducted primarily through a Walk-In-Interview.

General Conditions

Age Limit: Generally 35–40 years (Relaxations for SC/ST/OBC/Women/PWD as per GoI rules).
Tenure: Purely temporary; varies from 1 to 4 years depending on the project.
