Project Brief: PANPREP Centre
The PANPREP Centre at IIPH Hyderabad is dedicated to advancing infectious disease research through interdisciplinary collaboration, innovation, and translation of scientific knowledge into practical health solutions.
Key Focus Areas Include:
- Infectious diseases, zoonoses, and antimicrobial resistance.
- Environmental factors like air and water pollution.
- Vector-borne diseases and climate-health interactions.
- Cross-cutting themes with a “One Health” approach: health systems strengthening, pandemic preparedness, disease surveillance, data sharing, community engagement, and intersectoral coordination.
Job Requirements & Candidate Profile
| Category | Description |
| Study Design & Execution | Design, plan, and conduct laboratory experiments, clinical studies, epidemiological investigations, and public health studies in infectious disease research. Maintain accurate records and ensure strict compliance with ethical and biosafety standards. |
| Data Management, Analysis & Reporting | Perform rigorous analysis and interpretation of complex biological, clinical, epidemiological, and public health datasets. Prepare research reports, manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals, and presentations. Contribute to research grant proposals. |
| Collaboration & Mentorship | Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary one health teams (animal, human, environment sectors). Mentor and supervise junior staff, interns, and students. Participate in project meetings, journal clubs, and scientific forums. |
| Essential Qualifications | Master’s Degree in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Epidemiology, Public Health, Health Security, or a related field within the life sciences. |
| Experience | 3-5 years of relevant research experience in infectious diseases, outbreak preparedness, or the Centre’s key focus areas. |
| Skills | Proven ability to independently plan, design, and execute research projects. Proficient in Quantitative or Qualitative data analysis using relevant software. |
| General Remarks | Excellent academic record, good communication skills, and commitment to high-quality education. Relaxation of minimum qualification/experience for outstanding candidates. |
